It seems trail maintenance at KVSP has been and is dormant. The fallen trees have been down, and in the way long enough. We're talking about WAIST high trees, in places that don't have easy go around lines available. To go around theses neglected features; which I believe they are, we are going off the trial and ruining the wilderness. The bike shop that sponsored the group fixing the park closed too, not that it should be any reason for neglect. Last year the day before H2H (when H2H meant something) race day, a tree fell on the race course and a go around was put in for the race. Your trail maintenance after the race never included removing the tree, why? Was this because the park asked to leave it in the way? The last talk I made with the park super intendant was pro cycling in the woods, so his opinion was most likely not targeted in keeping the cyclist away. Hurting myself on the trees is not only a financial obligation, forcing me to maintain a single speed for this park but the limbs that have not been cleared after falling hurt my skin. Look I'm into serenity of trail maintenance, but last years dirt jump construction was rogue and waste of time it could have been clearing fallen trees. ----- Took a 19.1 Mile ride at Wawayanda State Park today, it was exhilarating. I made it on my fat bike! So it began with a mist to the air, then it became HUMID and I took to short sleeves. Going from dropping the bar mits to now sleeves I'm feeling insecure as I strip. I'm excited for the Monkey Knife Fight looking at a possible Warm Showers room. Holiday is this Sunday, so I'll be composing an epic ride for it!
